One More About Dogs

One of my all time favorite "Dog stories" was a story about a women endurance rider in the 1890's by the name of Mrs A M C Allen of Worcester, Massachusetts. The New York Times reported in 1893 that Mrs Allen was finishing her 154 mile ride when she was attacked by a dog. She drew a revolver, shot the dog and finished the last 16 miles home before receiving medical attention.
